Botswana is known for its vast wilderness and incredible wildlife, especially in the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The country is home to large populations of African elephants, along with lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The rare African wild dog also thrives in Botswana’s protected areas. Among its unique birds is the lilac-breasted roller, known for its vibrant colours. Botswana’s flora includes the mokgalo tree (Acacia erioloba), commonly known as the camel thorn, and the morula tree, whose fruit is used to make traditional drinks and skincare products.
