Flora and Fauna
Liberia boasts a rich diversity of wildlife, with its dense rainforests providing habitat for species like the western chimpanzee, forest elephants, and Pygmy hippos. The Sapo National Park is particularly important for the conservation of these endangered species. In addition to these, the country is home to several species of monkeys, such as the red colobus monkey and gray-cheeked mangabey.
Liberia's plant life is equally diverse, with towering mahogany and ebony trees forming the backbone of its forests. The country also has abundant medicinal plants used by local communities. Oil palms and rubber trees are economically important plants, contributing significantly to Liberia’s agriculture.
